Eric
Fahn Eric Fahn received his Bachelor of Music degree with Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1984 and his Bachelor of Education degree (Artist-in-Community Education Program) from Queens University in 1986. He began taking violin lessons at the age of nine with Herman Dang and later with Professor Alec Catherwood at the Faculty of Music of Wilfrid Laurier University. He also studied the viola with world renowned viola virtuoso Rivka Golani of Toronto; Tibor Vaghy, former principal violist of the Kingston (Ontario) Symphony; and Baroque viola with Jean Lamon, music director of Tafelmusik of Toronto. Eric has been a member of the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra since 1988 and the principal violist of the Oakville Chamber Orchestra since 2000. In addition, Eric was the music director/conductor of The Jubilee Singers of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board during World Youth Day 2002 in Toronto. This choir also recorded a CD and a religious music program which is being broadcasted regularly on Vision Television. During the past twenty years, Eric has also been the interim conductor of the Halton Youth String Orchestra in 1989 and performed with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra, the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra, the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He also freelances and teaches in the GTA area, and is currently a church pianist with St. Anns Parish in Toronto. |
