The Oakville Chamber Orchestra (OCO) relies on the passion and generosity of volunteers who contribute a collective 12,000+ hours per year helping us bring cultural enrichment to our community!

General Manager, Oakville Chamber Orchestra
The General Manager works under the direction of the Executive Committee of the Board and is under the direct supervision of the Board President and in collaboration with the Conductor / Artistic Director of the Orchestra.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced professional to provide support to our Board and musicians and to work collaboratively with a small but dedicated team. The role attracts an honorarium. Among the duties of this role are the following:
Administration for OCO operations including season planning and all concerts:
o Oversight, set up and tear down for all concerts
o Recruit and manage volunteers
Oversight over special Orchestra initiatives:
o Youth Concerto Competition
o Various community initiatives
All aspects of ticket design, printing & subscriptions
Work closely with the Treasurer to ensure Suppliers, musicians, et al are paid in a timely fashion
Work closely with Marketing and Fundraising to support the OCO
The Oakville Chamber Orchestra, in operation since 1984, is a registered charity and not for profit community organization. We present fine classical music to the greater Oakville area and are very active in the community. The OCO Youth Concerto Competition is well recognized and respected. We feature outstanding young guest artists.
The OCO is seeking someone with excellent relationship building and public relations skills. In addition, a combination of skills, experience and training in managing, collaborating and promoting are important. An understanding of arts program management and non-profit organization is of equal importance. Additional requirements include a Bachelor of Arts degree and internship or past experience with Arts organizations.
The Orchestra is in operation from September to the end of June.
